Prakash Travelling Cinema, attempts to capture the spirit of an age old medium of entertainment; a bioscope film projector owned by two friends who share a deep friendship, unceasing optimism and most of all, an undying passion for their traveling cinema.
Modernisation has brought this bioscope to the brink of extinction. In spite of the increasing competition from movie theaters, television and video parlors this lone bioscope continues to roll through the streets of Ahmedabad, undeterred. ‘Prakash travelling cinema,’ as the filmmaker Megha Lakhani, a student of the National Institute of Design puts it, is merely a tool, employed to explore those intrinsic tendencies of human nature that constantly fuel emotions of hope, inspiration, endurance and the fight to survive the winds of change.
